WEBINAR – Environmental Stress Cracking – The Plastic Killer

August 19 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am CDT
Fracture surface of a plastic part with indications of environmental stress cracking

Environmental stress cracking (ESC) is a leading cause of plastic component failure, with recent studies suggesting it accounts for up to 25% of all plastic part failures. This solvent-induced failure mode results in premature embrittlement and cracking due to the synergistic interaction of stress and chemical agents. If you work with plastic components, understanding ESC is crucial. This webinar  will provide you with the knowledge to enhance your understanding of chemical-plastic interactions and, ultimately, help prevent premature component failure.

At the end of this presentation you will:

  • Have a better understanding how chemicals effect plastic components.
  • Recognize potential situations where ESC failure could occur in your parts.
  • Be able to design a chemical resistance program to evaluate plastic/chemical combinations.
