This edition will focus on the performance of weld lines in fiber reinforced plastic parts, as it relates to fiber orientation and weld line fusion. Glass fibers are often added to plastic parts for increased strength and stiffness. However, non-ideal fiber orientation and the presence of weld lines can negatively impact the mechanical property improvements we see with the addition of glass fibers into a compound.
