The Many Faces of Polymer Materials – High Temperature Polymers – WEBINAR

This event is the last in our four-part series focused on polymer materials. This series will provide those that already have a basic knowledge of plastics with a deeper understanding of the material types being discussed, such as their composition, physical properties, mechanical properties, and chemical resistance.
The final installment will focus on high temperature polymer materials. In order to be classified as a high temperature plastic, the polymer must be able to withstand elevated temperatures without a significant loss in mechanical properties. Besides their exceptional thermal stability, high temperature plastics often also exhibit superior chemical resistance and excellent mechanical properties. These types of thermoplastics can be processed through a variety of techniques, however in injection molding they often necessitate oil-cooled tooling. These materials are utilized in a number of demanding applications, including aerospace, automotive, electrical and medical devices.
At the conclusion of the webinar, attendees will
- Gain an understanding of the various high temperature polymer material chemistries and their properties, including, physical, mechanical, and chemical.
- Have an insight into how the molecular structure of these materials determines their performance properties.
- Discover their advantages, disadvantages, and how they can be used successfully in various products.
