Perhaps the most common secondary process used in the plastics industry is joining of one more components to create an assembly. There are numerous methods available to join plastic parts to other parts (plastic, metal or other). The method used will dictate how strong and reliable the assembly will be, and if the product can be unassembled (un/intentionally). The process ultimately chosen will depend on several factors, such as the part material, environment, processing, cost, and required properties. This webinar will review the most common joining methods used in industry including, snap-fits, fastens, welding, and adhesives.
